Delhi: Massive Fire At Polyethylene Factory Near Rithala Metro Station Kills 3, Injures 3; Rescue Ops On | VIDEO

Divisional Fire Officer AK Jaiswal said that the polyethylene factory was engaged in printing on plastic and clothes at the time of the incident.

Delhi: A massive fire broke out near New Delhi’s Rithala Metro Station on Tuesday (June 24, 2025), sparking chaos among people. At least three people were dead and three were injured in the blaze that engulfed a polyethylene factory, Delhi Police said. A total of 15 fire tenders arrived at the spot around 7.30 pm to control the massive flames. However, the morning visuals from the accident site showed that the operations are still going on. The cause of the fire and the total no. of casualties remain unclear as of now.

Divisional Fire Officer AK Jaiswal said that the polyethylene factory was engaged in printing on plastic and clothes at the time of the incident. “The people here told us that 2-3 people have been taken to the hospital. 15 fire tenders are present at the spot. The fire is under control, but we cannot enter the second and third floors… When we are able to enter, then we will see if there is any casualty or not,” he added. The authorities are trying to gain access to the upper floors to find out if there are any more casualties.

According to reports, the owner of the building, Suresh Bansal, and his son Nitin Bansal were running a factory on the ground floor and the first floor. The 2nd floor is rented out to Mr. Anand, who is doing some fabric work there, and the top floor and the 3rd floor area are being used as a godown. The three injured persons have been identified as Nitin, Rakesh, and Virender. They were taken to Dr. BSA Hospital for treatment. Meanwhile, the fire tenders are continuously making efforts to bring the fire under control.
