New Delhi: The CBI has unearthed a case where a doctor, through middlemen, used to tell patients to buy equipment from a particular company. Apart from this, the patients should not be given treatment based on any bribe, but they should be given treatment on a priority basis considering the severity of the line and the disease. He said that all hospital management should maintain their register related to the treatment of patients, in which complete information including the patient’s name, date of the first day of arrival in the hospital and date of surgery should be kept.
Along with this, it can also be ensured that the patients are getting treatment only based on hospital orders. HODs of various departments of LNJP, LBH Hospital, GTB, GB Pant Hospital, and Deen Dayal Upadhyay Hospital were present during the meeting.
Special monitoring will be kept on arrangements in hospitals
Health Minister Saurabh Bhardwaj said that the CBI has recently busted the racket of taking money for treatment in Delhi’s Safdarjung Hospital. The CBI has arrested five people, including a neurosurgeon at the hospital. If doctors cheat patients in the name of treatment, then it is a matter of concern.
If any touts mislead the patients in the hospitals and do the work of brokerage with the patients by asking them to take financial benefits or to provide them facilities in other hospitals, then immediate action will be taken against them. Special monitoring will be kept on the entire system.
It will be the responsibility of the HOD in every department to maintain the register related to the patients. It will be checked every month by the MD. To maintain transparency in the system at every level.
During the meeting, the Health Minister instructed GB Pant Hospital to provide registered records of patients for the last three months. At the same time, LBHS was asked to renew the rate contract for medical implants till 31st June.
For more transparency in the system, every hospital will have to maintain a register
Health Minister Saurabh Bhardwaj said that all hospitals should renew their rate contracts for implants as soon as possible. So that more and more patients can get the benefit of free health facilities. Apart from this, treatment should be provided keeping in view the queue in the hospital and the seriousness of the disease.
The management of every hospital should maintain a register, in which complete information including the name of the patient, the date of the first day of arrival in the hospital and the date of surgery is present.
With this, it can be ensured that patients are getting treatment based on hospital queue only. At the same time, it will help in stopping the interference of brokers and there will be more transparency in the system.
