Delhi, Gurugram Reel Under Heavy Rains; IMD Sounds Alert! Check NCR Forecast

At 10 am on Thursday, the Yamuna's water level at the Old Railway Bridge was recorded at 207.47 meters. Delhi continues to grapple with widespread waterlogging and signs of possible flooding.

IMD Weather Forecast: Delhi-NCR continues to face disruptions due to persistent rainfall. While the River Yamuna remains above the danger mark, streets in parts of Gurugram are still waterlogged following incessant rain. The situation is concerning in villages of Gautam Buddha Nagar also, which are at risk of flooding.

At 10 am on Thursday, the Yamuna’s water level at the Old Railway Bridge was recorded at 207.47 meters. Delhi continues to grapple with widespread waterlogging and signs of possible flooding. Early morning visuals from Loha Pul and nearby areas showed the swollen Yamuna River which continues to wreak havoc following days of heavy and continuous rainfall.

Visuals from Sector 107 of Gurugram showed severe waterlogging in the area. A Police personnel told ANI, “There is 1-1.5 ft of water on the streets here. This is due to the drain at the back…There is no waterlogging inside (residential) societies; this is the situation only on roads.”

Check IMD’s Forecast For Delhi, Gurugram And Noida

Heavy rains lashed Delhi-NCR on September 4, as monsoon conditions remain intense. In light of the current situation, here is the India Meteorological Department’s (IMD) weather forecast for Delhi, Gurugram, and Noida for Friday, September 5.

Forecast For Delhi

Active monsoon conditions are likely to prevail over Delhi during next 4 days. The sky will remain generally cloudy with possibility of one or two spells of very light to light rain/thundershowers at most places and moderate at other places. The maximum temperature is expected to remain in the range of 32-34 degrees Celsius.

Forecast For Gurugram

Gurugram remains under a yellow alert for moderate to heavy rainfall. The IMD’s Interactive Display of weather and Thunderstorm warnings shows both Gurugram and Faridabad currently under yellow alert. The forecast for September 5, includes partly cloudy sky with one or two spells of rain or thundershowers. The maximum temperature will remain around 31 degree Celsius.

Forecast For Noida

For Noida, the IMD has forecast partly cloudy sky with possibility of light to moderate showers. The maximum temperature is expected to remain around 34 degree Celsius.

The monsoon trough currently passes through Jaisalmer, Kota, Narmadapuram,Seoni, Durg, centre of low-pressure area over north Chhattisgarh and adjoining East Madhya Pradesh, Chandbali and east-southeast wards to northwest Bay of Bengal.
