Delhi: The State Government has issued a detailed advisory in view of the recent rise in COVID-19 cases in various parts of the country. In the advisory, the BJP-led Delhi Govt has directed all the hospitals to “ensure all the preparedness in terms of availability of Beds, Oxygen, Antibiotics & other drugs and Vaccine.” It also mentioned that all the types of equipment, such as Ventilators, Bi-Pap, Oxygen Concentrators, PSA, etc., are in functional condition.
As per the advisory, all health institutions, including private ones, are urged to send positive samples for genome sequencing to Delhi’s Lok Nayak Hospital. This will help in facilitating the early detection of any new variants and take the necessary steps. The guidelines further emphasized that a refresher training of dedicated staff may be conducted soon.
The advisory said, “Reporting of Influenza-like Illness (ILI) & Severe Acute Respiratory Illness (SARI) cases in all health facilities (OPD/IPD) daily on the Integrated Health Information Platform (IHIP) portal. The confirmed influenza and COVID-19 cases may also be reported on the IHIP under the L form.” Additionally, it directs the daily reporting of all parameters on the Delhi State Health Data Management Portal.
The advisory further calls for ‘adequate testing in adherence to Covid-19 testing guidelines. To ensure COVID-19 testing of 5% ILI cases & 100% SARI cases, the release notes that the ICMR guidelines for testing are attached. It ensured that the respiratory etiquette was followed by all the medical institutions. This includes wearing masks inside the hospital premises, etc.
