New Delhi: Several parts of the national capital submerged as the water level in Yamuna River breached an all-time high, the Archeological Survey of India (ASI) on Thursday shut down the Red Fort for the general public, till July 14, 2023.

In an order issued on Thursday ASI said, “In Exercise of the Powers conferred under Rule 5 of the Ancient Monuments, the Director General of ASI hereby directs that the Red Fort shall remain closed for the public and general visitors from 2nd half of July 13 to July 14, due to heavy monsoon and rainfall.”

Due to the rising water level of the Yamuna River, several parts of the national capital submerged including Monastery Market, Yamuna Bazar, Garhi Mandu, Geeta Ghat, Vishwakarma Colony, Khadda Colony, areas around Neeli Chhatri Temple near the old railway bridge, Neem Karoli Gaushala and ring road from Wazirabad to Majnu Ka Tila.
