Delhi–Dehradun expressway toll rates: possible charges for travelling between the two cities

According to NHAI officials, the proposed rates will be implemented once the highway is fully open.

Traveling by car on the under-construction Delhi Dehradun Expressway could cost a significant fee. A car traveling from Delhi to Dehradun will cost approximately Rs 670 in toll tax. The expressway is still some time away from opening to Dehradun, but the National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) has prepared a toll tax proposal. Traveling from the expressway to the Eastern Peripheral Expressway (EPE) in Baghpat will be exempt from toll charges. According to NHAI officials, the proposed rates will be implemented once the highway is fully open.

The expressway begins at the Akshardham Temple and runs through Loni, Baghpat, Muzaffarnagar, Shamli, Saharanpur, and ends at Dehradun. Currently, a 31.6 km section from Akshardham to the Eastern Peripheral Expressway will have five toll plazas from Delhi to Dehradun. Over the highway, close to twelve interchanges have also been constructed.

Possible toll rates from Rajdhani to Dehradun

The six-lane expressway has been completed at a cost of Rs 12,000 crore. After a long wait, two sections of the Delhi Dehradun Expressway were opened to vehicles late on November 30. This 212-kilometre-long greenfield, access-controlled expressway begins at Akshardham and runs all the way through Baghpat, Shamli, and Saharanpur to Dehradun. The six-lane expressway will cost close to Rs 12,000 crore and is being built in four sections. One of the sections is elevated before Dehradun.

Vehicles can easily travel from Akshardham to Mavikala village in Baghpat. Currently, drivers will not be charged toll on both 32-kilometre sections. The opening of the expressway has made access to Northeast Delhi and Baghpat easier. In Delhi, this expressway is open from Akshardham to Mavikala in Baghpat via Laxmi Nagar, Geeta Colony, Lohe ka Pul, Shastri Park, New Usmanpur, and Mandola NBCC Township. Beyond Mavikala, one has to go via the Delhi Saharanpur Road. The Dehradun Expressway is approximately 210 km long. A toll booth has been built in Techno City. Construction work is still going on in the other section beyond Baghpat.

It is 14.5 kilometres long in Delhi and approximately 17 km long in the Ghaziabad–Baghpat stretch. At Baghpat, it will be connected to the Eastern Peripheral Expressway, which is already connected to the Delhi–Meerut Expressway. This will make travel easier and boost the development of the region.

Mandola ramp dispute

Due to a land dispute, Mandola currently lacks a ramp or service road. The matter is pending in court. Streetlights are out of order at many locations along the Ghaziabad and Baghpat sections of the expressway, and marshals are not deployed. NHAI has directed the relevant agencies to make improvements.
