Delhi-Dehradun Expressway To Open This Month! Baghpat Will Be Just 25 Minutes From The Capital – Details Inside

Once completely operational, the expressway will reduce the travel time to 2.5 to 3 hours, almost half the previous 6-hour-long journey. Additionally, it will ensure seamless connectivity and smoother traffic flow, benefitting the commuters going from Delhi to Baghpat.

Delhi- Dehradun Expressway: The 32 km stretch of the long-awaited Delhi- Dehradun Expressway, extending from Akshardham Temple to Baghpat, has been successfully completed. With the projected nearing completion, the 212-km-long expressway, built in four phases, is ready to be inaugurated. However, the date of its inauguration has not been officially declared. According to reports, the Delhi-Dehradun stretch is set to be open anytime this month.

Once completely operational, the expressway will reduce the travel time to 2.5 to 3 hours, almost half the previous 6-hour-long journey. Additionally, it will ensure seamless connectivity and smoother traffic flow, benefitting the commuters going from Delhi to Baghpat. Due to technical reasons, the inauguration of the expressway was postponed earlier. However, with the remaining construction work now having been completed, it can be inaugurated in March.

Major Details Of The Greenfield Expressway

This new Greenfield Expressway, spanning multiple regions, will pass through Delhi, Uttar Pradesh, and Uttarakhand. According to reports, the first 18 km of the route from the Akshardham Temple in Delhi to Loni in Dehradun will be toll-free. The commuters currently pay Rs 500 in toll fees on the Delhi-Dehradun Expressway, with multiple toll plazas along the stretch costing Rs 90, Rs 130, and Rs 75. A major highlight of the expressway is its soundproof barriers installed on both sides.

Expressway Starts From Akshardham In Delhi

The 32-kilometer stretch from Akshardham to Baghpat (first phase) promises to reduce the travel time from 2 hours to 25 minutes. The last phase connects Ganeshpur in Uttar Pradesh to Asharodi in Dehradun. Additionally, a 3.4-km-long stretch from Daat Kali to Asharodi has already been already opened for the commuters.

Key highlights of the Delhi-Dehradun expressway include 110 vehicle underpasses, five Railway Over-bridges, a 76 km service road, and 16 exit and entry points. The expressway connects all the places on the Eastern Peripheral Expressway.

1st Phase: Akshardham – Delhi – UP Border

2nd Phase: EPE Crossing – Saharanpur Bypass

3rd Phase: Saharanpur Bypass – Ganeshpur

4th Phase: Ganeshpur – Dehradun
