There is an exciting news for commuters, as two sections of the Delhi-Dehradun Expressway are ready for inauguration. It is reported that the NHAI had made all the preparations for the inauguration on Sunday, but it was later postponed. Prime Minister Narendra Modi is expected to inaugurate the two sections and the new date will be announced soon.
Salient Features Of 32-KM Section
The two sections of the expressway are 32 km long. 17 km is in Delhi and remaining 15 km falls in Ghaziabad and Baghpat border in Uttar Pradesh.
The expressway will be beneficial for the commuters in many ways. It will save travel time of commuters. The journey on the route can be completed in just 2.5 hours to 3 hours. The work on the first phase of the Delhi-Dehradun expressway has been completed.
The 32-km distance will be covered in just 25 to 30 minutes. It starts from Akshardham Temple and goes to Baghpat. The first phase, covering 32 kilometers, will run from Akshardham to the EPE. It will pass through Laxminagar, Geeta Colony, Shastri Park, Khajuri Khas, and BihariPur, before entering Ghaziabad via Ankur Vihar. In Ghaziabad, the expressway will pass through Pavi Pushta and Mandola, and then enter the Baghpat district.
More About The Expressway
The 210 km new expressway connecting Delhi and Dehradun via Saharanpur will reduce travel time between the two cities. It will cut the journey from six and a half hours to just about two and a half hours. The first phase will connect the National Capital Region (NCR) to the state of Uttarakhand, allowing vehicles to travel from Delhi to Dehradun easily. This route will increase the number of tourist visiting Dehradun.
The second phase, covering 118 kilometers, will extend from EPE to the Saharanpur bypass. The third phase, covering 40 kilometers, will connect Ganeshpur to the Saharanpur bypass, and the final phase, covering 20 kilometers, will reach Dehradun.
