Delhi Car Blast LIVE: A massive explosion took place on Monday evening in a slow-moving car near Delhi’s Red Fort, leaving eight people dead. According to reports, the high-intensity blast occurred in a Hyundai I-20 car, registered in Haryana, under a person named Salman, near the Red Fort Metro Station.
Three passengers were inside the vehicle. Meanwhile, the Vehicle Number involved in the blast is HR 26, an eyewitness told the media. The incident has triggered a panic in the area, prompting authorities to sound a high alert in the national capital region, along with other states, including Uttar Pradesh, Mumbai, Punjab, and Haryana.

Delhi CM Rekha Gupta tweets, "The tragic incident that occurred in Delhi has left the entire city in shock. In this hour of difficulty, the Government of Delhi extends its deepest condolences to all those families who have lost their loved ones and to those who have been injured in this incident. The Government of Delhi stands firmly with every affected family, and we have taken a compassionate decision for immediate relief. The Delhi Police have registered a case in connection with the blast near the historic Red Fort under multiple sections of the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act (UAPA), the Explosives Act, and the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS).
According to police officials, “A case has been registered under Sections 16 and 18 of the UAPA, along with various sections of the Explosives Act and the BNS, at the Kotwali Police Station.”
The explosion, which occurred on Monday evening, claimed the lives of at least eight people and left several others injured.
Earlier, Union Home Minister Amit Shah, speaking to ANI, confirmed that the blast took place in a Hyundai i20 car at the Subhash Marg traffic signal near the Red Fort around 7 p.m. He added that the explosion injured pedestrians and damaged several vehicles in the vicinity.
