Delhi Braces For More Rain As Monsoon Conditions Remain Active, Check IMD’s Forecast For Next 5 Days

Incessant rainfall over the past weeks has led to a rise in the Yaumna’s water level, creating a flood-like situation. Locals living in the floodplain areas have been shifted to relief camps set up in Mayur Vihar Phase 1.

Delhi Weather Update: The national capital, where the Yamuna River continues to flow above the danger mark is bracing for more rain in the coming days. The water level of the Yamuna in Delhi receded marginally on Saturday, dropping to 206.47 metres at the Old Railway Bridge (ORB) from the 207-metre mark. Despite this slight decline, several areas of the city remain flooded as the river is still flowing above the danger level.

Delhi Weather Update: Forecast For September 7

The India Meteorological Department’s (IMD) forecast for Sunday, September 7, shows possibility of one or two spells of very light to light rain/thundershowers at isolated places during evening/night. The sky will remain partly cloudy with maximum temperature in the range of 34-36 Celsius. No specific weather alert or warning has been issued by the IMD so far. However, residents are advised to keep checking IMD’s official X handle for live updates on weather warnings.

Moreover, the IMD has stated that active monsoon conditions are likely to prevail over Delhi during next 2 days.

September 8: Partly cloudy sky with possibility of one or two spells of very light to light rain/thundershowers at isolated places. No Alert Issued.
September 9: Partly cloudy sky, no rainfall forecast so far. Maximum temperature to remain around 34-36 degree Celsius.
September 10: Partly cloudy sky, no rainfall forecast so far. Maximum temperature expected to remain around 34-36 degree Celsius.
September 11: Partly cloudy sky, no rainfall forecast so far. Maximum temperature expected to remain around 33-35 degree Celsius.
September 12: Partly cloudy sky, no rainfall forecast so far. Maximum temperature expected to remain around 34-36 degree Celsius.

The monsoon trough currently passes through Jaisalmer, Kota, Shivpuri, Damoh, Pendra Road, Sambalpur, Puri and east southeastwards to east central Bay of Bengal.
