Delhi: Blast Reported In Prashant Vihar Area; Fire Tenders Reach The Site, Says Delhi Fire Service

Delhi: An explosion has been reported from Prashant Vihar area of Delhi on Thursday Morning. The blast occurred near a PVR in Prashant Vihar area, India Today reported. Delhi Fire Service on Thursday, said that a call regarding a blast was received from the Prashant Vihar area at 11.48 AM today. Fire tenders have reached the site, added the Delhi Fire Service.

Delhi police have reached the spot and cordoned off the area from where the explosion was reported.

Earlier in October, a major explosion had rocked the Prashant Vihar area near Rohini in New Delhi. While no injuries were reported, nearby vehicles and properties were damaged, police said. Teams from the Delhi Police, the National Investigation Agency (NIA), and the National Security Guard (NSG) were rushed to the spot, and the blast was investigated from all possible angles, including a potential terror attack attempt.

However, police later said that the blast was intended to send a message, as the suspect deliberately chose the school wall and morning hours to ensure no loss of life. “The manner of the blast on the wall side and the morning timing suggest the intention was only to send a message, not to cause significant damage,” they said.

Details awaited.
