Delhi Bandh On April 25: What’s Open And What’s Closed Today Amid Market Shutdown Over Pahalgam Terror Attack

Delhi Bandh comes after trader associations in Jammu and Kashmir observed a similar bandh and took out protest marches on April 23 to condemn the Pahalgam terror attack. The move has, however, sparked speculations among Delhi residents about what would remain open or what would remain closed.

Delhi Bandh: As a mark of tribute to the victims who were killed in the Pahalgam Terror Attack on Tuesday, Trade unions in Delhi have called for a one-day bandh on April 25. A complete market shutdown has been decided to be observed in the national capital today to mourn the death of 26 lives lost in the terrifying incident. Meanwhile, the Confederation of All India Traders (CAIT), which extended its full support to the Bandh, has appealed to traders to voluntarily observe it.

However, the move has sparked speculations among Delhi residents about what would remain open or what would be closed.

Key Markets To Be Closed – List

It should be noted that Khan Market Traders’ Association, NDTA, and Green Park Vyapar Mandal have decided to take part in the bandh. According to reports, other markets that support the move include Bhagirath Place, Gandhi Nagar, Karol Bagh, Sadar Bazar, Rajouri Garden Marble Association, Kirana Committee Khari Bawli, Mori Gate, Naya Bazar, Hauzakaji, Meena Bazar, Matia Mahal, Daryaganj, Hindustan Mercantile Chandni Chowk, Nai Sadak, Bullion Association, Khari Baoli, Chawri Bazaar, Kashmere Gate, Jama Masjid, Chandni Chowk, etc.

Banks, Metro, Govt Offices To Operate As Normal

However, there is no official statement from the Delhi Government or Police regarding today’s Bandh as of now. Therefore, it may not apply to banks and other government establishments or offices in the city. Notably, those who do not wish to participate in the Trade union’s bandh, will operate as usual. At the same time, Delhi Metro services and other public transport will continue to work as normal.
