Delhi AQI Today, October 23, 2025: The national capital continued to breathe toxic air on Thursday, October 23, three days after the Diwali celebrations. The average Air Quality Index (AQI) plummeted to 328 at 8 am today under the ‘poor’ category. According to aqi.in, pollution levels took a big dip as most areas in Delhi were registered to be in the red zone. The deteriorating air quality has raised concerns among residents and authorities.
Akshardham registered a concerning AQI of 350 this morning, while the air quality dropped to 428 under the ‘Severe’ category around Anand Vihar, as per the Central Pollution Control Board (CPCB). The AQI around India Gate and the surrounding areas was recorded at 353 in the ‘very poor’ category. Low visibility and a heavy blanket of smog led to significant disruptions during the early hours.

AQI In Other Places In Delhi
AQI plunged to 384 under the ‘very poor’ category in Anand Vihar, while Jahangirpuri recorded an air quality index of 277 at 8 am on October 23. Delhi AQI: Check Forecast For Next Two Days
The decline in the air purity will further decline, according to the Air Quality Early Warning System for Delhi. The air quality is very likely to be in the ‘very poor’ category for the next two days, until October 25, 2025. The outlook for the subsequent 6 Days shows a very Poor to Poor category. In view of the situation, the Commission for Air Quality Management (CAQM) invoked all actions under Stage of extant schedule of GRAP-2 in Delhi-NCR after AQI dipped to 300 on October 19, a day before Diwali. There is no immediate relief in sight this week.
Air Quality In Ghaziabad, Noida And Gurugram
The neighboring cities also recorded high AQI levels. Ghaziabad records a ‘poor’ AQI of 232, while Noida and Gurugram register AQIs of 256 and 190.
