Delhi Airport Issues Travel Advisory! Normal Flight Operations Resume Amid Ongoing India-Pakistan Tensions

Amid heightened security preparedness, the Delhi Airport authorities have urged the passengers to 'stay updated with guidance from their respective airlines. Additionally, passengers are advised to rely solely on official sources for accurate information and refrain from sharing unverified content.

Delhi Airport Travel Advisory: Amid the ongoing heightened tensions between India and Pakistan, Delhi’s Indira Gandhi International Airport announced the recommencement of normal flight operations. In an advisory issued in the early hours of Saturday, Delhi Airport said, “Delhi Airport operations are normal at present. However, due to changing airspace conditions and increased security measures as per orders from the Bureau of Civil Aviation Security, some flight schedules might be impacted, and security checkpoint processing times could be longer.”

Amid heightened security preparedness, the Delhi Airport authorities have urged the passengers to ‘stay updated with guidance from their respective airlines. Additionally, passengers are advised to rely solely on official sources for accurate information and refrain from sharing unverified content.

Guidelines For Passengers

– Follow hand baggage rules and check-in luggage regulations.
– Arrive early at the airport to avoid delays at security checks.
– Cooperate with the airline and security staff for smooth facilitation.
– Check flight status through your respective airline or the Delhi Airport’s official website.

Earlier, the Airports Authority of India (AAI) and other relevant aviation authorities in a series of notices to Airmen (NOTAMs) announced the temporary closure of 32 airports across Northern and Western India. The NOTAM applies to all civil flight operations, effective from May 9 to 14, 2025 (which corresponds to 5.29 am on May 15, 2025.

The list of 32 airports include Jodhpur, Kandla, Kangra (Gaggal), Keshod, Porbandar, Rajkot (Hirasar), Sarsawa, Shimla, Srinagar, Thoise and Uttarlai, Kishangarh, Kullu Manali (Bhuntar), Leh, Ludhiana, Mundra, Adhampur, Ambala, Amritsar, Awantipur, Bathinda, Bhuj, Bikaner, Chandigarh, Halwara, Hindon, Jaisalmer, Jammu, Jamnagar, Naliya, Pathankot, Patiala.
