A new chapter for better contact between Delhi and Gurugram is about to begin, as the plan of an elevated corridor, a 20 -km long elevated corridor from AIIMS/INA to Gurugram, is now taking embodiment. The National Highway Authority of India (NHAI) has started the necessary process regarding this project.
Paper proceedings are also going on for a fast and unruly flyover from South Delhi to Mahipalpur to Gurugram-Faridabad Road.
AIIMS-Gurugram Elevated Corridor: DPR status
Ministry of Road Transport and Highways (MORTH) has issued tenders to prepare a detailed project report (DPR) of this project.
This corridor will be expanded to Gurugram-Faridabad Road connecting AIIMS to Mahipalpur bypass.
Earlier, such a tender was issued in May-June, which could not move forward. Now a new tender has been issued with revised conditions.
The DPR will include determination of the route, road structure, intersection, service road, traffic management, security audit, evaluation and cost assessment of environmental and social impacts.
Feasibility study on flyover
Before the introduction of DPR, feasibility will be done, based on the report, the direction of DPR will be fixed.
This study will include traffic analysis, load survey, root evaluation, topographical study and lane plan.
Interested agencies will have to apply by October 15.
The entire process is planned to be completed in nine months, but if the project does not seem practical in the beginning, NHAI can also stop it.
