Delhi: In a shocking incident, 13-year-old girl was found dead under suspicious circumstances in her house in Dabri area of Delhi. Delhi police received information about the incident on Thursday afternoon and rushed to the spot. According to the police, her body was found in a room on the roof of the third floor of the house at Sitapuri. Crime team and forensic team were also called at the spot.
On the basis of initial investigation, the police suspect that the girl was murdered by strangulation. No signs of sexual assault has been found in preliminary investigation, stated the officials on Friday.
The police have registered a case of murder under relevant sections. Further investigation is underway to ascertain the motive behind the murder.
Another Incident
In another incident, reported from Delhi, a mob attacked a 44-year-old man on Wednesday night in northwest Delhi’s Vijay Nagar area over suspicion of selling cow meat. The incident took place near Delhi University’s North campus. Police identified the owner of the grocery shop, called North East Store, as Chaman Kumar. A mob reportedly beat him between 9 p.m. and 10 p.m. on Wednesday.
In a purported video, a group of men can be heard chanting slogans demanding that “those who kill cows be shot.” Police heightened the security to control the situation. According to police, “meat samples have been seized and sent for forensic analysis to determine whether it is cow meat.”
The DCP also said that the complainant alleged that he purchased one kilo of cow meat for Rs 400 from the store. Students, including some from the Students’ Federation of India (SFI), and local residents gathered at the scene, which prompted people to call the police.
