A 27-year- old women allegedly took her own life at her home in Uttam Nagar last week. Police said on Friday that she left behind a phone number and had written on the wall in Hindi, 'chhodna mat usko (Don't spare him)'
Police said the women is believed to have left a two page note, in which she accused a man and his family of troubling her when she asked them to return a loan she had given. They also said she worked as a lab assistant at a private school and had earlier worked as a civil defence volunteer.

Family Says Woman Was Harassed Over Unpaid Loan
The phone number belonged to her former colleague from the civil defence unit, said the woman’s 25-year-old younger sister. She said her sister had given over ₹2 lakh to him and his brother for their mother’s medical treatment. But they didn’t return the money, even after she kept asking. Instead, they started threatening and troubling her in the past few weeks.

A case of abetment to suicide was filed on Tuesday under Section 108 of the BNS at the Uttam Nagar police station.
Woman Found Dead by Sister; Accused on the Run
Police said the woman lived with her mother and siblings in the house. Her 29-year-old elder sister found her body around 9pm on Saturday when she came back home. An officer said, “The man and his family members are absconding. We are conducting raids to nab them.”
