Delhi Traffic Advisory: India has begun Chaitra Navratri celebrations on Sunday, March 30. Pratipada, also known as the first day, is associated with the worshipping of goddess Shailaputri. Devotees thronged temples in the national Capital on the first day of Navratri. Delhi’s famous Jhandewalan Temple saw huge crowd of devotees on the first day and is expected to remain same for the next 8 days. In order to maintain smooth vehicular movement around the temple, the Delhi Traffic Police have issued traffic advisory. Traffic regulations and diversions will be in effect around Jhandewalan Temple from 30 March to 7 April 2025. Delhi Traffic police have advised the commuters and devotees to follow the advisory. The arrangements have been made to facilitate visitors at the Jhandewalan Temple.
Traffic Regulations And Diversions
Restricted Roads: Traffic congestion is expected on Rani Jhansi Road, Faiz Road, Desh Bandhu Gupta Road, and New Rohtak Road around the temple.
To minimize traffic disruptions, Delhi Traffic Police have recommended the use of public transport due to limited parking spaces.
Visitors using private vehicle are advised to park only in the designated parking areas.
The advisory further stated that entry for the general public will be allowed only through gates on Rani Jhansi Road and near the Delhi Jal Board office on Desh Bandhu Gupta Road. Roadside parking has been restricted to ensure smooth flow of traffic.
Motorists have been requested to remain patient, adhere to traffic rules and cooperate with traffic personnel for a smooth experience. Moreover, commuters are advised to follow the directions by the police deployed at key intersections.
