‘Ayushman Vay Vandana’ Scheme: Delhi Govt Launches Up To Rs 10 Lakh Free Medical Treatment For Senior Citizens- All You Need To Know

Free medical benefits totaling Rs 5 lakh per year can be obtained through this initiative by qualified senior citizens.

The ‘Ayushman Vay Vandana’ scheme of the Delhi government now provides citizens over age 70 with up to Rs 10 lakh worth of fee-free medical services. During a special event in the capital where Chief Minister Rekha Gupta and Union Minister Hardeep Singh Puri were present the Vay Vandana cards reached their first set of beneficiaries.

Free medical benefits totaling Rs 5 lakh per year can be obtained through this initiative by qualified senior citizens. The government scheme will deliver Rs 5 lakh health coverage independently from the separate Delhi government plan leading to total protection of Rs 10 lakh. The healthcare scheme includes more than 100 hospitals operating within Delhi.

The Chief Minister announced that cashless treatment registration exceeded 30,000 while more than 100 city hospitals participated in this scheme. The initiative established a major positive development according to her. According to Gupta the former AAP government performed injustice by postponing the establishment of this scheme for seven years because of political disagreements and pride issues. 

Through triple engagement we promise to introduce positive change to Delhi. The city will transform into a formalized and learning hub and fully developed environment. This initiative provides advantages that will benefit every member of society. Joint efforts between us form a massive responsibility. The time for making excuses has passed because we will provide Delhi with its deserved progress according to Gupta.

Every senior citizen who registers under Vay Vandana Yojana receives an exclusive health care service card which serves as their medical documentation. The Health card will maintain safe storage of senior citizens’ complete health records and regular health check-up reports together with emergency service contact information.
