Greater Noida: The Authority Board on Saturday conditionally approved the master plan of the Greater Noida Phase 2, which is proposed to be set up on 40 thousand hectares. A total of 40 lacs people will be able to reside in the area that will reach up to the border of Hapur and Bulandshahr.
Developing areas for modern industries and creating green areas will be the main focus of Phase 2. The Authority has reserved the land accordingly but there will be fair discussion before finalising the draft. Authority will seek suggestions from the common people regarding the master plan.
The master plan was placed before the board meeting of the Greater Noida Authority, which was held on Saturday. Officials gave a presentation of the master plan of Greater Noida Phase 2. After which, the Board of Authority conditionally approved the Master Plan 2041. At present, Greater Noida is established in an area of 31,733 hectares. After the development of both new phases, Greater Noida will be stretched into an area of about 71 thousand hectares.
Industries will be given priority in Greater Noida Phase II.
According to information, Industrial activities will take up about 25 per cent of the area of the proposed phase 2. The rest of the land will be used for residential, rural population, mixed land use, greenery and transport.
During the master plan presentation, many members raised several questions and suggested that there should be a discussion about the plan with the general public too.
First discussed in 2007
The Master plan for Greater Noida Phase 2 was planned in 2007. But, no work has been initiated at the time. Now, if the master plan is implemented soon, many unplanned activities developing will be halted.
