New Delhi: Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal on Monday announced that all temporary employees who are working in the Municipal Corporation of Delhi (MCD) would be regularised.
The CM made the announcement while addressing a felicitation program organized by the MCD demanding timely payment of salaries to its employees.
The Aam Aadmi Party convener said the government was timely paying MCD employees for the last two months. Tax collection of the civic body has also increased as “it is being ruled with honesty”.
On this occasion, the Chief Minister handed over letters of appointment to the 370 employees of the civic body.
Kejriwal showed his faith in MCD workers and said, “MCD staff and officials will make Delhi the “cleanest city” in the country in the next two to three years”
He added that the people of Delhi would relate to the cleaning campaign underway in the city and to keep it clean and tidy in the coming months.
The event, which was held at the Thyagaraj Stadium, was also attended by AAP-ruled DCM Mayor Shelly Oberoi and Urban Development Minister Saurabh Bhardwaj.
