Greater Noida: Two daring individuals accused of robbing a 30-year-old man at gunpoint in Dadri locality were apprehended after a thrilling gunfight on Sunday. The police successfully recovered two pistols and ₹32,000 stolen cash from their possession.

The victim, identified as Akash Kumar, was on his way to Amethi Kohna village, his hometown, on July 30. While waiting for a bus at the Dadri bus stop at 7 am, a cab pulled up, and the driver kindly offered him a ride. Seemingly, two other men at the bus stop overheard the conversation and joined in for a low-cost ride.

Here’s how the story unfolded

However, the situation took a dark turn when the cab veered off to an isolated location. The two co-passengers and the driver brutally assaulted Akash, stealing his mobile phone and ₹20,000 in cash. Under the threat of a gun, they coerced him into revealing his UPI ID password and emptied his savings, amounting to ₹45,000. The attackers then callously threw him out of the moving car near the Dadri toll plaza, making their escape.

Akash bravely managed to contact his family members with the help of a toll plaza employee’s mobile phone. Three days later, he reported the incident to the police, leading to the registration of a loot case at Dadri police station.

Attempting to apprehend them, the police encountered a fierce gunfight, resulting in the suspects sustaining bullet injuries to their legs. The two men were ultimately arrested.

Identified as Javed alias Jabar and Javed, the arrested individuals have a long history of criminal activities. Jabar faces at least 22 registered cases, while Javed has seven cases against him. Shockingly, during the investigation, they admitted to targeting several passengers using the same modus operandi.

As the investigation continues, authorities are diligently working to apprehend their third accomplice. The timely intervention by the police has put an end to the reign of these audacious robbers, providing a sense of relief to the local community.
