Noida: On the orders of District Magistrate Manish Verma, the education department closed all the Gautam Buddha Nagar schools up to class 12 on July 14. The decision has been taken keeping in mind the increasing water level of the Yamuna River and the possibility of heavy rains. This information was shared by Dr Dharamveer Singh, District School Inspector of Gautam Buddha Nagar.
DIOS Dr Dharamveer Singh told me that it is raining continuously in the hilly areas, due to which the water level of the Yamuna River is increasing continuously. Due to this, the possibility of flooding is being expressed in the Yamuna Khadar area and low-lying areas. On the other hand, there is a possibility of heavy rains in the Gautam Budh Nagar district during the next few hours. This order will also apply to schools of the Uttar Pradesh Basic Education Council, the Uttar Pradesh Secondary Education Council, the Central Board of Secondary Education, and other boards.
Traffic between Gautam Budh Nagar and Delhi has also been restricted in view of the flood in the Yamuna River. Traffic was badly affected at Kalindi Kunj and DND, the important borders between the two cities. Keeping this in mind, the Gautam Buddha Nagar Traffic Police have issued an advisory for the people of the district. There is no restriction on traffic related to essential goods and emergency services. The Gautam Budh Nagar Police have issued a list of alternate routes.
