Delhi: In a suspected road rage incident, a 30-year-old police constable died from head injuries after a car dragged him along the road in Delhi’s Nangloi area late last night.
Another constable, Sandeep, who was patrolling in plain clothes was investigating the cases of theft when a speeding WagonR tried to overtake him. He pulled up the driver and asked him to slow down, but the car sped up instead and ran into Sandeep from behind, dragging him and his bike for about 10 meters. They rushed him to a local hospital and then sent him to another, but he died.

Suspects Flee, Murder Case Filed
The incident was captured on the CCTV camera installed at the site; it shows that the constable is signaling the car driver to decrease his speed. He accelerated the car and hit the constable. The Delhi police said that there were two people in that car, and they abandoned the vehicle, ran away from the scene. The police have taken away the car and are still searching for the suspects. A murder case has been filed.
He left his mother, his wife, and a five-year-old son. Other reports also stated that one of the passengers was involved in some sort of illicit liquor smuggling; however, as one police department official declared, neither they had confirmed this information.
Road Rage Cases Are Increasing In Delhi-NCR
There has been a spate of road rage cases lately, what appears to be a disturbing number in the National Capital Region. Disputes over traffic accidents have resulted in serious injuries and even deaths. Last month, a 32-year-old auto-rickshaw driver was brutally attacked after his vehicle accidentally hit a car in Faridabad. He later died from his injuries.
