New Delhi: As many as five people were hurt after speeding BMW car collided with several vehicles late on Saturday. The incident took place on the Ring Road near the Red Fort in Delhi.

As per the police, the car was travelling from Geeta Colony to Rajghat when it had hit two cars and a two-wheeler from behind. The accident occurred at 11:30 PM, reported the news agency PTI.

According to the police, Sunil Jain, a former independent MLA from Sagar in Madhya Pradesh, was the car’s driver. Mr. Jain’s BMW struck a scooter, a WagonR, and a Kia Seltos.

From Mr. Jain’s car, liquor bottles and empty glasses were found. The police reported that there were two occupants in the BMW. To ascertain whether Mr. Jain was under the effect of alcohol, medical tests are being performed.

At the Kotwali police station, authorities have opened an investigation. Mr. Jain, the accused, has not yet been taken into custody.
