Delhi: An ATM uprooted by some miscreants from Wazirabad area of Delhi has been recovered by Crime Branch. The Crime Branch arrested the culprits and recovered the ATM from the Mewat area. The incident took place on Thursday at around 3:49 am. Criminals had thrown the ATM into a well and covered it with garbage and grass. A video has been released where the police can be seen using a crane to recover the ATM.
The incident unfolded when there was no security guard in the ATM. Bank’s control room received an alert around 3:49 am, which indicated a problem with the ATM in Wazirabad. Police were promptly alerted by the bank officials upon receiving the notification. A team rushed to the scene and found that the ATM had been forcibly removed from its kiosk.
What Did The Police Say?
Investigation revealed that the accused had carefully planned their heist. Police revealed that a brief glimpse of the suspects was captured before the camera was disabled. The limited footage showed one person entering the kiosk and swiftly covering the camera lens with black paint. As per reports, the ATM contained Rs 25 Lakh.

Police further revealed that the miscreants had tried to break the machine on site only, but could not. When their initial plan failed, they resorted to other measure which included uprooting the ATM and taking it away with them. The miscreants tied the ATM to their vehicle with a heavy chain and fled the scene. Investigation was underway to nab the criminals which has been successfully done, as the police recovered ATM with the help of crane.
