New Delhi: A 43-year-old journalist in Delhi, Sanjay Jheel, was stabbed, and his phone and purse were snatched too. Two men were arrested by the Crime Branch.

Both the accused were identified as Roshan Bharti and Shivam Kumar (22). Both get arrested from their houses in Pandav Nagar and West Vinod Nagar. They used to work as labourers at marriage parties.

The culprits were identified using CCTV camera footage, according to Special Commissioner of Police (crime) Ravindra Singh Yadav. Ambar Pandey, the third accused, has escaped. “Bharti was found to be involved in a robbery case.”

One of Dhan Sumod, a journalist friend said, “When he told them that he was not carrying a matchbox, one of them took out a knife and asked him to hand over his belongings. When he resisted, they attacked him.”

According to the police information, the journalist identified as Dhan Sumod lives in Mayur Vihar Phase II and works as the Delhi bureau chief of a TV news channel. The incident happened on Saturday when he was returning from work when suddenly three people attacked him with a knife and snatched all his belongings.

Earlier, on December 13, the Delhi government’s Directorate of Education (DoE) had issued a circular directing all government, government-aided, and recognised private schools under DOE, NDMC, MCD, and Delhi Cantonment Board to conduct classes in a hybrid mode for students up to Class IX and XI.
