Bengaluru: A Karnataka minister was captured on camera while slapping a woman who complained of not being allotted a plot as promised by the state government.
V Somanna, the leader of ruling Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and Minister of Infrastructure Development of Karnataka, was attending an event where he was invited to distribute land titles in Hangala village of Chamarajanagar district.
As per the Section 94C of the Karnataka Land Revenue Act, as many as 175 people are entitled to get land deeds for legal regularisation in the rural areas. The woman claimed that she is among those people entitled to get the land.
During the event, a woman came to the minister to tell him that she was never given the piece of land by the revenue department.
As shown in the video, the minister slapped the angry woman as she tries to make her way to him so she can narrate her ordeal. However, the woman goes on to touch minister’s feet to urge him for giving her chance to tell her issue despite being slapped.
Reportedly, the minister later apologised to the woman.

pic.twitter.com/bI1v5Cbl4l
