Korba (Chhattisgarh): In a viral video, a doctor who was under the influence of alcohol, was seen beating up a female patient in the district medical college in Chhattisgarh’s Korba.

After the incident came to notice, the doctor was served a show-cause notice to justify his action.

Sukhmati, the deceased, became ill late at night, so the family dialed 108 and 112, but they were told that it would take some time to send help. Upon hearing that, Sukumati’s son took her to the hospital in an auto rickshaw.

During the incident, the doctor started beating up the woman. The family was told to be quite when they protested against the inappropriate behavior of the doctor.

The hospital’s management has taken cognisance of the matter and initiated an investigation into the matter.
