Tamilnadu: A 33-year-old army man was beaten to death by a Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (DMK) corporator and 9 others in a dispute over washing clothes near a water tank in Krishnagiri, Tamil Nadu. On 8 February, Prabhakaran, a soldier and DMK member Chinnasamy got into an argument over washing clothes in the Pochampally area. Then after Councilor Chinnasamy along with nine other people allegedly attacked Prabhakaran and his brother Prabhu.

Prabhakaran got serious injuries and succumbed in a private hospital yesterday. Based on his brother Prabhu’s complaint, the police arrested six people, including DMK chancellor Chinnasamy’s son Rajapandi.
Army jawan Prabhakaran, who was seriously injured in the incident, was undergoing treatment at a private hospital in Hosur, where he died on Tuesday evening. The police have converted the case into a murder case and are searching for Chinnasamy, who has been absconding since the day of the attack.
