In a shocking incident that occurred recently, Vanshika Saini, a 21-year-old student from Derabassi, was found dead under mysterious circumstances in Ottawa, Canada. According to reports, on April 18, she finished her final exams and got a part-time job. However, things took a tragic turn when she left home for her workplace on April 22 and did not return. A search operation was launched, and the authorities discovered her body on a beach two days later near Ottawa.
Her family and friends made several unsuccessful attempts to contact her, but could not reach her as her phone was switched off. Reports added that she was preparing for an IELTS exam that was scheduled to be held on April 25. After the exam, when her friends went to check on her, they found that she had been missing for the past few days. They immediately alerted the Canadian authorities and the Indian community.
Who Was Vanshika Saini?
Vanshika, the daughter of Davinder Saini, an aide of AAP MLA Kuljit Singh Randhawa, was pursuing her higher studies in Ottawa for the last two and a half years. Vanshika moved to Canada after completing Class XII and enrolled in a 2-year diploma course there.
Family Alleges Foul Play
Vanshika’s family in India has alleged foul play, insisting that she was killed. Davinder Saini found out about her disappearance on April 25 after one of his friends informed the family. The AAP leader approached the police on the same day and later contacted the embassy in Ottawa to lodge a missing person report. An investigation is currently underway to find out the exact reason behind her death.
Davinder Saini told the media that he last spoke to his daughter on April 22. When he could not contact her again later, he thought she was busy preparing for her IELTS exam. They have now urged a thorough probe into the circumstances surrounding her death.
