Chandigarh: Padma Shri Dr. Rattan Singh Jaggi, the noted Academician and Sikh scholar being conferred upon the GYAN RATNA award , the Panjab University’s prestigious honour by the Vice President of India Sh. Jagdeep Dhankar in recognition to his enormous contribution in the field of education and literature during its 70th Convocation on 20th May 2023.

Dr Jaggi, a nonagenarian is an eminent scholar of Hindi and Punjabi with Gurmat and Bhakti Movement Literature being his forte.Pertinently, Dr. Jaggi has penned 144 books on varied subjects viz. Sikh scriptures , medieval period literature, Sikh philosophy besides encyclopaedias of Sikh religious concepts and terminology.
