Chandigarh: With Punjab Transport Minister Sardar Laljit Singh Bhullar launching the Punjab Roadways bus service between Patti and Shimla today, it is for the first time that the Punjab Roadways bus service has started from Patti to Shimla.

Speaking after flagging off the Patti Bus Stand, Cabinet Minister Laljit Singh Bhullar said that the Chief Minister Sardar Bhagwant Singh Mann-led government was running buses from various cities of Punjab to other states keeping in view the convenience of the people. Are.

He said that this Punjab Roadways/Punbus bus will leave from Patti bus stand at 10.20 am and reach Shimla at 10.30 pm via Amritsar, Jalandhar and Chandigarh. Similarly, the next day it will leave Shimla at 7.10 am and return via the same route and reach Patti at around 7.30 pm. The one-way fare of the bus has been fixed at Rs 585.

The Transport Minister informed that Punjab Roadways has registered a record growth in earnings during the last financial year. During the financial year 2022-23, Punjab Roadways earned Rs 700.88 crore, which was Rs 547.08 crore during the financial year 2021-22. He informed that this increase of Rs 153.80 crore works out to 28.11 per cent. He said that the earning of Punjab Roadways is increasing continuously and during the next day buses will be run from other cities also.

The Transport Minister said that the officials have already been instructed to give priority to plying of buses from the required places as per the demand of the people so that cheap and economical bus service can be provided to the people.

Cabinet Minister S. Bhullar said that Chief Minister S. Due to the transparent policies of Bhagwant Singh Mann, the transport department is on the path of progress and by accelerating this pace, the department will be taken to new heights. He said that breaking the back of the private bus mafia, the Hon’ble Government has started bus service from Punjab to Delhi International Airport at three times less fare and now about 25 buses ply from different districts of the state to Delhi Airport.
