Chandigarh: Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann today announced that new schemes would be launched for the welfare of the youth and to channel their immense potential.
Interacting with reporters at Punjab Bhawan, the Chief Minister said that the Punjab government would soon launch several schemes to make the youth active partners in the socio-economic development of the state. He said that the state government would soon start a scheme to provide interest-free loans to the youth. Bhagwant Mann said that this would help in opening new avenues of self-employment for the youth.
The Chief Minister further announced that he would hold ‘Naujawan Sabha’ twice a month to have a direct dialogue with the youth. He said that the purpose of these meetings is to establish a direct connection with the youth and to get their feedback and suggestions so that the government can frame appropriate policies for them to start new businesses and take other innovative initiatives. Bhagwant Mann said that to promote agriculture, transport and other sectors, in-depth discussions would be held with the youth after every 15 days and their suggestions would be taken.

The Chief Minister also announced that the state government would open 10 state-of-the-art centres to train the youth for competitive examinations. Bhagwant Mann said that this centre will help the youth in U.K. P.S. C. Will give standard training to pass the exam and reach prestigious positions in the state and country. He said that the aim of the State Government was to ensure that the youth occupy high positions and not end up in jails by indulging in any illegal activities.
