Chandigarh: Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann on Friday announced to give ex-gratia Rs 1 crore each of the family members of four Army personnel killed in the Poonch terror attack yesterday. 

An Army vehicle moving between Bhimber Gali and Poonch in the Rajouri sector in Jammu and Kashmir caught fire due to firing by unidentified terrorists.

According to officials, 5 security personnel of the Rashtriya Rifles unit deployed for a counter-terror operation lost their lives in the deadly incident. Another seriously injured jawan was evacuated and shifted to the Army hospital in Rajouri and is under treatment.

As per Army, the fire incident was caused due to likely use of grenades by terrorists. 

Four out of 5, Hawaldar Mandeep Singh, Kulwant Singh, Harkishan Singh, and Sewak Singh, martyred belonged to Punjab.
