New Delhi: The Uttrahand High Court suspended the district and sessions court judge Dhananjay Chaturvedi for misusing his position and being absent from the dice while the statement was being recorded.
Chaturvedi was also questioned over the charges of infriging right to privacy of female subordinate employee by obtaining her call-detail records.
The order was issued by registrar-general Anuj Kumar Sangal who stated that the judge has abused the powers he was bestowed. On April 11, a show-cause notice was issued to the judge to justify his actions right after he was exposed that the statements were being recorded in his court while he was absent.
In his reposnse, judge said that he has suffering from kidney stones so he has to go to washroom often. He explained that he asked to stop recordings during his absence, reported Times of India.

However, in the video accessed by the High Court showed the evidences being recorded even the judge was not at the bench.
The registrar-general found his explaination ‘non-satisfactory’ and added that there were grounds to conduct enquiry. However, there is no information yet as to who will replace Dhanajay Chaturvedi.
