CBI raids Rajendra Kumar Gupta, former CMD of Wapcos; Rs 20 cr cash recovered

New Delhi: The Central Investigation Agency CBI has taken major action in the disproportionate assets case on Tuesday. Raids were conducted at around 19 places including Delhi, Chandigarh, Panchkula, Gurugram, Sonipat and Ghaziabad against Rajendra Kumar Gupta, former CMD of Wapcos Water and Power Consultancy, which comes under the Ministry of Jal Shakti. During this, CBI has recovered 20 crore cash.

This cash has been found in notes of two thousand, five hundred and two hundred rupees. The bundles were placed on the double bed and clothes suitcase.

CBI has registered a case against Rajendra Kumar Gupta and his family members. Apart from the recovered cash, the CBI has seized documents related to the property, and other valuables.

WAPCOS Water and Power Consultancy is under the administrative control of the Ministry of Jal Shakti. The firm provides engineering consultancy services for projects in the water, power and infrastructure sectors in India and abroad.
