A startling case has emerged in Lucknow, the state capital of Uttar Pradesh. A woman claims that her spouse burned her with cigarettes and forced her to eat meat. The woman claims that her husband married her while concealing his religious affiliation. He is now putting pressure on her to convert.
Marriage via concealing one’s identity
According to India Today’s report, the woman accused her husband, Chand Mohammad, of concealing his religious identity and marrying her by pretending to be a Hindu. The woman claims that she is being pressured to convert her religion. Her spouse beat her repeatedly when she protested. She got burned by cigarettes. She was also compelled to consume meat.

Woman under pressure to convert
The woman claims that her husband disguised himself as a Hindu by concealing his religious identity and married her through deception. The woman claimed that her husband, Chand Mohammad, approached her and introduced himself as Sunny Maurya in order to marry her. Following that, he began renting an apartment in the city.
Locked in room, assaulted
The accused allegedly sexually abused the victim when she objected to her conversion. He spilled boiling oil on her and burned her with a cigarette. The woman claims that the accused threatened her with death if she complained about him. He also threatened her with rape by family members.
Miscarriage due to beating
The victim said that everytime she tried to flee the accused’s hands, the accused would lock her in a room and beat her. The woman also claims that Mohammed injured her abdomen while she was five months pregnant, causing her miscarriage.

The one-stop centre has now rescued the woman. It has also been reported that she will soon file a police report.
