New Delhi: While students were busy studying in their classes, sound of a bomb blast shackled the school. The incident is from Free India High School located on South Station Road in Titagarh area of North 24 Parganas district of West Bengal on Saturday.
A bomb explosion on the roof of the school in Titagarh, North 24 Parganas district of West Bengal was reported. The incident has spread sensation in the area. Police has started investigation of the incident. The incident caused panic among the students, teachers and other staff.
Panic after the explosion
According to the information received, classes were going on till 11 am on Saturday at the school. Suddenly, teachers and students heard a loud bang on the roof of the school. Due to this there has been a stir among the students which has caused panic.
According to the information received, the explosion was reported on the stairs of the roof of school. A part of the roof was blown off by the explosion. The police was immediately informed. Titagarh police reached the spot. Scattered pieces were recovered after the explosion.
Bomb blast on the roof of the school
It is being investigated whether the bomb was thrown from outside in the school or whether the bomb was planted in the school itself. The school is in a densely populated area. An investigation is underway to find out who caused the blast.
Khalid Tyeb, the teacher of that school, said, “There was a very loud bang. At that time we were sitting in the staff room. At first we thought that some bomb had hit outside. After that I went outside and saw smoke coming out of the school. After that we came to the terrace and saw that bombs were scattered all around.”
All these evidences have been collected by the police. If the explosion had occurred during the day-break, there could have been major causalities.
