Noida: The Bollywood theme park has been proposed to be developed in D-Park, Greater Noida on a public-private partnership (PPP) model and given to a concessionaire for 20 years to operate. It will be built over 10 acres of land at a cost of nearly Rs 26 crore.

In Greater Noida West, a waste-to-wonder park featuring installations of Hindi movie characters created from scrap metals and junk automobiles has been suggested, recreating iconic sequences from Bollywood masterpieces such as Sholay and 3 Idiots.

The official said that entertainment facilities will also be available, “We have finalised the rates of different items like sculptures, beautification, and entertainment facilities among others.”

Along with sculptures replicating sequences such as Jai-Veeru riding a bike from Sholay and other popular scenes from Aamir Khan’s 3 Idiots, prototypes of various parts of filmmaking will also be displayed through scrap metal, according to the planned proposal.

In the meantime, the Noida Authority is working on a similar scheme. On a construction, operation and maintenance (COM) basis, the authority is creating a “natural trail of artificial zoo theme park” near the Mahamaya Flyover in Sector 94. This park will cost Rs 15 crores to build, and the contractor has also been chosen.
