New Delhi: While visiting largest landfill area in Ghazipur, Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) supremo Arvind Kejriwal Thursday slammed the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) saying that the saffron party has only given garbage to the people of Delhi.
Comparing himself with the Ramayan’s Sharavan Kumar, Kejriwal urged “mothers” in Delhi to cast aside political affiliations for a while to bring AAP in power. He promised to send the elderly people to pilgrimage and also clean up the city.
“For once, I urge BJP voters to forget party affiliations. We will clean up Delhi. I want to tell the mothers in Delhi, vote for your son who took you to pilgrimages,” said Arvind Kejriwal.
Arvind Kejriwal lashed out at the BJP who has been ruling the Municipal Corporation of Delhi (MCD) for over a decade.
All MCD bodies merged
In the latest, all three divisions of the MCD were merged in one. The elections for the unified body will take place before in early 2023.
The AAP chief reached the Delhi’s largest landfill area amid chanting of anti-Kejriwal slogans. Protesting BJP workers also showed blag flags in protest. After which, the AAP workers started sloganeering in favour of Kejriwal.

Meanwhile, the BJP leader Gautam Gambhir made a counter attack at the AAP chief calling it a political stunt ahead of MCD polls.
He said, “Delhi CM should tell people of Delhi how many times he visited Ghazipur landfill site in last 7 years? I’ve visited ]landfill site 8 times in last 3 years. Today, when the landfill’s height is reducing, you (Kejriwal) going there to do politics ahead of MDC polls.”
