New Delhi: In Bihar‘s Darbhanga, a clash broke out between two communities allegedly after one of them tried to perform last rights forcibly at a land owned by the other on July 23.

The conflict took place after the Muslim owner protested the cremation on the private land owned by him in Malpatti village of Hariharpur Panchayat. As per the news, the police reached the spot soon after knowing about the incident and took control over the situation.

After Shrikant Paswan’s death last night, the family members reached the cremation ground to perform the last rites, where the people of a particular community, who were already there, stopped the cremation and started a ruckus, saying that the cremation ground was private, due to which even the people who came to perform the last rites got stuck in burning the dead body.

Other side claimed of perform in cremation since years 

The Paswan’s family claimed that they have been performing last rights for many years, which is why, they persisted on burning dead bodies of their family there.

The side alleged that the people from the other side barged into their houses and assaulted the family members. In one of the case, one of the miscreants killed a person and even peed on the dead body of the same.

2Muslim side alleges cruelty from police

However, a video surfaced on the internet alleging that the police returned later in the night after another clash took place in the area. Following which, the video claimed, the police stormed into the houses of Muslim community in the name of Flag March and damaged the properties inside.

FIR registered, 8 held: Cops

The police has posted an update regarding the same and informed that the police is closely monitoring the situation and FIR has been filed already in the case.

Through a post on the micro-blogging platform Twitter, the police informed that as many as 8 accused have been arrested in the matter, while the search operation is on to nab others.
