To address the traffic congestion faced by commuters, the Noida authority has started excavation work to build an extra lane near Film City. The excavation was carried out on Monday.
Noida faces huge traffic blockage from the Chilla border to the Mahamaya Flyover in the peak hour because of multiple entry points from the DND Flyway, Mayur Vihar, Akshardham, and Film City.
To resolve this issue, the Noida authority has initiated the project to widen a section of the road between the Chilla border and the Film City Flyover. According to the officials, an extra lane of about 2 metres will be added by merging the left sidewalk from the DND Flyway Loop to Film City.
This construction will ease the traffic movement between these two areas.
The Noida Authority informed that the work will be completed in next two months and its estimated cost is Rs 70 lakh.
The Deputy General Manager (civil) of the Noida authority, Vijay Rawal informed about the project and said, “The sidewalk will be removed to pave an additional lane. Nearly 11 trees have been removed, while 6-7 street poles, flowerpots, and cables will be shifted soon.”
He also mentioned that there will be no traffic restriction or diversion during the excavation work.
Apart from this, earlier it was informed that the construction work of Chilla elevated road project is also expected to commence in next three months. This project aims to offer seamless ride and provide better connectivity to commuters who travel between Delhi and Noida. Spanning over 5.96 km, Chilla Elevated Road will have six lanes that will connect Delhi’s Chilla Regulator place near Mayur Vihar to the Mahamaya Flyover on the Noida Expressway. It aims to reduce traffic congestion between Chilla border to Mahamaya flyover.
