New Delhi: A Mob of more than 50 people attacked a Police Station in Burhanpur, Madhya Pradesh on Friday and freed an accused inmate and dacoit who were lodged in lock-up.

According to police, the incident took place around 3 AM when a mob attacked at Nepanagar police station, damaging several police vehicles and injuring on-duty policemen.

As per information, four policemen were injured and undergoing treatment at a private hospital.

The mob freed Hema Meghwal, a dacoit who was carrying a reward of Rs 32,000, and his two associates lodged in the lock-up. The dacoit was arrested a few days ago.

At the time of the incident, four policemen were on duty, while a mob of more than 60 attacked at nearly 3 am, said a police official.
