MP Horror 2.0: 12-Yr-Old Abducted, Raped While Returning From School

A 12-year-old girl was reportedly abducted and sexually assaulted by a man while she was walking home from school in Madhya Pradesh.

Rewa: A 12-year-old girl was reportedly abducted and sexually assaulted by a man while she was walking home from school in the Rewa district of Madhya Pradesh. The incident occurred on Friday, and the police arrested the suspect, Anjani Kevat, aged 23, on Saturday, according to Rewa’s superintendent of police, Vivek Singh.

The victim, a fifth-grade student, was walking home from school when the accused offered her a ride to her village. However, Kevat instead took her to an isolated location and sexually assaulted her. He later dropped the girl near her village, which is situated near the Uttar Pradesh border.

The young girl informed her family about the assault, and they took her to a hospital, subsequently notifying the police. The police reported that the girl sustained injuries to her private parts but is currently in stable condition.

The accused has been charged under the relevant sections of the Indian Penal Code and the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act.
