Rewa Bus Accident

New Delhi: A horrific road accident has occurred on National Highway-30 (NH-30) of Rewa district. It was initially reported that at least 3-4 people have died in this accident. But later on the death toll reached 14. More than 30 people are also injured in the incident.

Sohagi Police reached the spot first

After the information of onlookers, Sohagi police reached the spot. The police personnel then rescued the passengers trapped in the bus. The rescue operation continues. The seriously injured people have been admitted to the Tyonthar Civil Hospital.

Personnel from at least 6 police station reached later

Following the accident police personnel from at least six police stations had reached the spot. The in-charge of Sohagi police station, inspector OP Tiwari said, ‘the accident took place in the mountain area at around 11.30 pm on Friday night.

At least 14 people have died so far

The bus had departed from Jabalpur and was headed to Prayagraj via Rewa. On its way, when the bus was descending from the mountain it met with a massive accident. Initially it was being told that 3-4 people have died but that toll has now touched 14.

CM Shivraj expressed grief over Rewa bus accident

Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan discussed the phone with Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath in the morning and apprised him of the incident.

Chief Minister Chouhan told Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath that this road accident happened late in the night, after getting information about the incident, senior officials including Collector SP of Rewa district reached the spot and the district administration conducted rescue operation all night.

The mortal remains of the passengers who died in the accident are still kept in the shrine, they will be brought to Prayagraj with respect by the Madhya Pradesh government. Along with the person who is safe or injured. Those who are injured have been given first aid and sent to Prayagraj through two buses at night. Those passengers who are seriously injured are being treated free of cost at Rewa Medical College.

Rewa district administration is ensuring all necessary arrangements for the rituals of the injured and the dead, including treatment.
