Bengaluru: A strange case of hooliganism by an Uber cab driver has come to light in Bengaluru, Karnataka. An Uber driver allegedly assaulted a 48-year-old woman and her son who accidentally bumping into his cab. The police arrested the driver on the complaint of the woman.

According to the police, the incident took place on Wednesday (August 9) in a residential area of Bhoganahalli in Bengaluru. The woman wanted to take her son to the hospital, so she booked a cab. Police said she got into the wrong cab by mistake. When she tried to get down, the driver assaulted her. The locals somehow stopped the cab driver from physically assaulting the woman.
Based on the complaint lodged by the woman, the police arrested the driver Basavaraju, 25, a native of Malleswaram in Bengaluru. This incident was captured in CCTV cameras.

This case of assault with her came to light when the woman’s husband shared the incident on social media. He also lodged a complaint with Uber.

The victim’s husband thanked people who helped his wife from the driver’s his rampage. He said the driver tried to flee from the spot after the police was informed, “but was stopped at the main security gate of our campus.”
