Bengaluru: Senior Congress leader Rahul Gandhi on Monday halted his speech in the middle after hearing the sound of Azaan in Tumakuru. Rahul was addressing a public meeting, in the meantime, Azaan started happening in the nearby mosque. On this, he stopped speaking and signaled other people to remain calm.
The video of the incident is being shared on Social Media. In this, it can be seen that Rahul Was busy in giving a speech when Congress leader KC Venugopal came to him to tell about Azaan, after which Rahul stopped his speech.
During his speech, the former Wayanad MP lashed out at the BJP government in the southern state. He alleged that the BJP government has done corruption at-large in Karnataka during the last 3 years’ tenure.
“ For the last three years, the BJP has only done corruption in the state. The people of Karnataka call their regime a 40 percent government because they take a cut or commission of 40 percent from the contractors. The PM is also aware of this,” Rahul Gandhi.
Rahul Gandhi also mentioned the electoral guarantee of the Congress during his speech. These include 200 units of free electricity to all households under Griha Jyoti, the assistance of Rs 2000 per month to all female heads of households under Griha Lakshmi, 10 kg free rice to each member of BPL card-holding families under Anna Bhagya, Rs 3000 per month for 2 years for youth who have graduated and Rs 1500 for diploma holders under Yuvanidhi and free travel for women in public transport buses under Sakhi scheme.
