Bengaluru: In yet another unusual event in Bengaluru, a partially constructed bus shelter on Cunningham Road has disappeared mysteriously. The bus shelter, which was still under construction, had chairs, roofs, and poles. However, thieves didn’t leave anything behind and made off with the entire structure. This stainless steel shelter was valued at around Rs 10 lakh. The maintenance of this shelter fell under the responsibility of the Bangalore Metropolitan Transport Corporation (BMTC).
BMTC’s vice president, N Ravi Reddy, has reported the theft, and the police are investigating. CCTV footage from nearby buildings are also being accessed to find clues.
In a separate incident, a 27-year-old software engineer in Sarjapur, Bengaluru, was scammed out of Rs 60 lakh. She received a text message about a part-time job and clicked on a link that took her to a Telegram group. At first, she earned some money by reviewing hotels, but the scammers then tricked her into investing in a fake opportunity. She ended up investing Rs 60 lakh from her and her mother-in-law’s accounts before realizing it was all a scam when she didn’t get the promised job.
