In a tragic incident, two people died after a lorry collided with a bus on Yelahanka flyover in Bengaluru on Tuesday morning. The incident occurred when a cement lorry hit an Innova car, which cause both the vehicles to stop on the right side of the flyover. While the drivers engagement in an argument, a speeding Bengaluru Metropolitan Transport Corporation (BMTC) Volvo bus came from behind and hit the lorry, resulting in chain collision.
The car, lorry and bus were lifted with the help of crane after the incident, and traffic was cleared for movement of commuters.
What Did Police Say?
Police shared details about the incident and said that they are working to identify the deceased. “The front part of the bus was completely crushed. Yalahanka traffic police have registered the case. The Yelahanka Traffic Police are currently working to identify the deceased,” added the official.
Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP) Traffic Northeast said, “The incident unfolded when a cement lorry collided with an Innova car, causing the two vehicles to stop on the right side of the flyover. While the occupants were engaged in an argument, a speeding BMTC Volvo bus came from behind and collided with the lorry.”
The collision resulted in two deaths and several injured. Injured passengers have been admitted to a nearby hospital for treatment.
